Memories

Its a fortnight since they left me alone...
Alone and lonely in this big world
Life in the city was more comfortable
to have been surrounded by my kids and grandkids
Helping them grow and manage the house!
With my little skills I saw them flourish
It must have hurt them to let me go
To send me alone to this lonely place
Did I see a tear in their eyes as they waved good bye...
I do think so...

I remember the time when I was a little girl
When I used to climb the trees so tall
Fighting with my brothers to get the mangoes
And relish the juice of the oranges
I was the youngest daughter
pampered by my 5 big brothers.
It must have hurt them to let me go
To send me alone to this lonely place

Parents bought a guy to see me
And I was swiped off my feet
And I became the eldest daughter-in-law
after years of being the youngest kid
It was a fairy tale come alive
though hardships also came along
Trying to make the ends meet
And living life with a smile

I cooked and stitched and cleaned and grew plants
And made money to send my kids to school
Along-side with my better half
I watched my kids become able and strong
It must have hurt them to let me go
To send me alone to this lonely place

The family grew and grew, and I had grandkids to play with
I will always look after them and make sure they are alright
I hope they know that Im fine here
And have made many a new friends
It is not as lonely as I thought.

I have dedicated my life for them
I will always be their guardian angel
Loving and praying for them
They had looked after me when i was not well.
Now, all my ailments are cured
All my blessings are with my family
As I look down at them from the heavens above
